Thursday, 10 April 2014 - 10:39am
The identity of a woman found dead inside a crashed vehicle at Whakamarama can now be confirmed as 25-year-old Kelly Ann Sinclair.
Miss Sinclair was last seen by a friend in Katikati late on Sunday night and was planning to head from there to Tauranga. Early this week she was reported missing by family.
A serious crash investigation is underway to establish the cause of the crash and when it occurred. Initial investigations indicate that the vehicle was heading away from Tauranga back towards Katikati when it has crossed the centreline and left the road.
Anyone who recalls seeing Miss Sinclair's blue 1997 Audi A3 between Sunday and Wednesday or has any other information that might assist the crash investigation is asked to contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300.
