One seriously injured in rockfall
Police and Ambulance staff are currently in attendance at a motor vehicle incident on State Highway 3 approximately 12 kilometres from Piopio.
A vehicle has been struck by falling rocks. As a result at least person has sustained serious injury, the exact nature has yet to be confirmed by attending staff.
Police have now established diversions for both north and south bound traffic. South bound traffic leave State Highway 3 at Aria Road before continuing onto Totoro Road and then back onto State Highway 3.
North bound traffic will exit State Highway 3 at Totoro Road before taking Aria and then returning to State Higway 3. Diversions are expected to be in place for at least two hours.
