Environmental Report Cards for 2013 Released
Annual report cards that give snapshots of various aspects of Southland’s environment for 2012-13 have been released.
The Annual Environmental Monitoring Report Cards reflect some of the activities and scientific monitoring undertaken by Environment Southland. While the explanations in them are based on technical data they are designed to be accessible to the general public.
The report cards cover a range of topics: air quality, groundwater quality, groundwater quantity, river and stream health, lake water quality, rivers and rainfall, water quality for bathing and shellfish gathering, fish study, soil moisture and surface water abstraction.
They are available on the Environment Southland website www.es.govt.nz and from our offices in Invercargill.
