Rush-hour delays in Tawa following pipe burst
Motorists are urged to avoid the southern end of Main Road in Tawa this evening where delays are likely following today's water main burst. A section of the roadway near the Oxford Street intersection was badly damaged and while both lanes are open the speed limit has been reduced to 30kmh while workers repair both the broken pipe and the roadway. Northbound motorists should consider taking the motorway to Porirua and then 'doubling back' to Tawa. Water supply is gradually being restored to the immediate area but some properties may be without supply until at least5.30pm.
