BIG Rides are BACK for the Coca-Cola Easter Show 2014
The Big Rides are BACK for Coca-Cola Easter Show 2014 with all Auckland’s favourite thrills and spills making their comeback for the biggest show in years.
Whether it is the Turbo Boost; New Zealand’s most extreme travelling Carnival ride standing 40m tall, spinning at over 120km per hour and pulling 3.5 extreme Gs, or long time crowd favourite theHurricane; taking you up and down 40ft into the air; the Roundup, Scream Machine or Gravitron, the Coca-Cola Easter Show has something to take the air out of your lungs and get your pulse racing for the entire holiday weekend.
ASB Showgrounds CEO Mark Frankham says the big rides are essential components of the event. “The public told us they wanted the big rides, so we’ve brought them back, including all of theMahons Amusements crowd favourites.
A new attraction making its debut this year is the incredible SuperFly Water Slide - the world's largest inflatable water slide, standing over 11 metres tall and 55 metres long.
It features three awesome sliding lanes, left and right high speed, curved and banked slide chutes and one main straight super chute for maximum thrills! This is the first time the SuperFly Water Slide will be available to the public in New Zealand, exclusively at the 2014 Coca-Cola Easter Show.
“The SuperFly Water Slide has to be seen to be believed,” says Frankham. “It’s a masterpiece of inflatable technology – so don't forget to bring your swimsuit along and get set to SuperFly this Easter.”
But the biggest news for the Coca-Cola Easter Show this year is free entry to all, something Frankham says will make the show more popular than ever. “We really want to make this show as accessible to as many people as possible, and by removing that initial charge, it means a family can attend for a much smaller cost,” he says.
“People expect to have to pay for the rides at the show, but if they just want to see the many entertainments on the cultural stage, just see the art competition or the A Show, it will cost them exactly nothing,” he said.
“We’re expecting five big days of excitement for all the family,” he said.
