Lower Kaimai: Truck Crash
Bay of Plenty, 24 March 2014 - SH29 on the eastern side of the lower Kaimais has been partially blocked by a crash involving a logging truck.
Initial reports are that the truck has ended up in a roadside ditch but is blocking one lane.
Although one lane is open at present, a full closure may be required when heavy equipment arrives to clear the scene.
Emergency services are at present trying to free the truck driver from his cab. He is reported to be conscious but no status is available at present.
A further release will be made when closures are finalised.
