Canterbury
Police search teams are planning to undertake a further search near Greymouth tomorrow in their efforts to locate a missing Christchurch man.
Kurt Millan Green, aged 30, was last seen in the Blaketown beach area near Greymouth, on Sunday 9 March.
Police confirmed today that a ground search yesterday in the Blaketown beach area had not produced any significant findings.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Illingworth, of Christchurch Police, says search teams are likely to return to the area north of the Grey River tomorrow to do a further sweep of the area.
Helicopter or aeroplane support may also be brought in to assist the search in some of the more difficult terrain.
"We are continuing to appeal for any sightings of him, or for any information about his whereabouts," Detective Sergeant Illingworth says.
"This remains a missing person enquiry and we simply do not know what, if anything, has happened to Mr Green."
Detective Sergeant Illingworth says a number of calls have been received from members of the public in response to publicity about the case over the past 48 hours, but no firm leads have emerged.
Police are appealing for anyone who has seen Mr Green or has information about his whereabouts to contact Christchurch police on (03) 3637400 or Greymouth Police, (03) 7681600.
