Woman injured during a school camp
At approximately 9am today Police were alerted to an incident in the bush off Demeter Road near Te Puke.
A parent helper assisting with a school camp has fallen on a bush track and suffered a suspected dislocated hip.
Police and ambulance were dispatched and by noon rescuers had reached the injured party on foot and are currently preparing to extract her by rescue helicopter.
Parents of the children involved in the camp have been notified and the incident will not affect the continuation of the camp.
