Strange Behaviour of Concern to Police

Counties Manukau East Police are currently investigating a number of incidents where a man has been seen exposing
himself to members of the public in the Eastern Beaches and Macleans Park area.
The man is reported to be wearing woman’s clothing and/or underwear and exposing himself to members of the public as
they walk by.
Acting Inspector Al Symonds of Counties Manukau East Police says there have been no reported assaults by this man and at
this stage it is not believed that he poses any particular danger to anyone.
"This sort of behaviour is unacceptable in public places and causes alarm to members of the public," says Acting
Inspector Symonds. "What people do in the privacy of their own home is their own business, but we urge this person to
come forward to Police as soon as possible given the various public places which he has been frequenting."
The descriptions of this man vary but all have agreed he is a middle aged Caucasian man.
"We'd like to reiterate that at no time has this man approached any member of the public, or attempted to touch them.
However we do ask that if you see this man to please call Police immediately on 111," says Acting Inspector Symonds. "Do
not confront him and, if you are able, obtain a photograph of the man's face and any vehicle he is associated to. This
information will assist Police to identify him."
Investigations are underway and a number of people will be spoken to in relation to these offences. Police are also
undertaking to increase their patrols in the area including a number of covert patrols on push bikes and on foot. Any
person walking through Macleans Park could be a Police officer in plain clothes.
Police urge the public to call 111 at the time of the incident and stress that there is no immediate threat of assault
to any person.
