Elderly man trapped beneath overturned loader
At 10:15am this morning, Emergency Services were called to a farm property on Cannon Point Road in Upper Hutt.
At 73 year old male was operating a front end loader that was moving some gravel when it has overturned. This has crushed the cab, trapping the male under cab.
It is unknown how long he was trapped there before Emergency Services were advised.
The Fire Service is currently working on lifting the loader so that the male can be extracted. The male is conscious and talking to Ambulance staff.
WorkSafe NZ have been advised and will be carrying out their own investigation into the cause of the accident.
The male is the owner of the property where the loader was operating.
