Carterton: Fatal Crash
At about 11am on the 09/03/2014 emergency services were called to a single motorcycle crash on Te Wharau Road, Carterton.
The road was closed for the Cliffhanger Hillclimb event which sees riders take part in staggered time trials up the 6.9km hill road.
A 59 year old male came off his motorbike approximately 2kms up Te Wharau Road.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
