Hamilton Fatal Crash
Saturday, 8 March 2014 - 1:32pm
Police and other emergency services are in attendance at a crash at the intersection Wardville road and Tower Road, near Waharoa. Road blocks have been put in place on the four roads leading to this intersection, i.e. Wardville road, Tower road, Armadale road and Manawaru Road.
Senior Sergeant Pete van de Wetering of the Hamilton District Command Centre said that tragically a motorcycle has collided with a truck at this intersection resulting in fatal injuries to the 45 year old rider. He was in a group of three men who were riding their motorcycles in the area when the crash happened. Senior Sergeant van de Wetering says that it is too early into the investigation for Police to comment further on the cause of the crash or events leading up to it. The driver of the truck is naturally very upset but is helping police.
Police urge all road users to be alert and to drive carefully.
