Alleged online dating predator arrested
A man wanted by Police over dishonesty offences, allegedly committed after preying on women he met on internet dating sites, was arrested at the weekend.
Shane William Grogan, also known as Shane Calder, aged 46, of Christchurch, was arrested without incident at South City Mall on Saturday afternoon, after Police received information from a member of the public.
Grogan was wanted on warrants in relation to charges of theft from a dwelling, using a document for pecuniary advantage and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in Court by audio-visual link today.
Police express thanks to members of the public who contacted them with information about the man's whereabouts.
