Man arrested following attempted robbery

Police have arrested a 47-year-old man in relation to the attempted robbery of a Whangärei takeaway shop.
About 6.20pm on Thursday February 13, the man entered the Whau Valley Fish and Chip shop and allegedly handed a note over demanding cash.
As well as being charged with attempted robbery, the Auckland man is facing charges of theft-ex car and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. These offences occurred on the same day as the attempted robbery.
The man has been remanded in custody will be appearing in the Pukekohe District Court on February 24.
