Police seek public assistance over cyclist death

Waitemata Police Serious Crash Unit is seeking information from the public in relation to the death of a 63 year-old man last night (Tuesday 18 Feb) .
The man was a cyclist and was found by motorists at about 5.15pm , lying on Weranui Road, Wainui (Rodney district), a short distance away from Upper Orewa Road.
Members of the public attempted CPR but the man died at the scene.
Investigations as to how the man has come off his bike are underway, and though it's too soon to say whether a vehicle has been involved Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the cyclist riding in the area, or provide further information.
The 63 year-old man was wearing a blue and orange cycling shirt, black cycling shorts, and a red & white helmet.
