Police are seeking the help of the public to identify a man involved in an aggravated robbery at Parakao last week.
About 2.15am on Thursday February 13 two men broke the ranch slider of a sleep-out at a Mangakahia Road address and entered the dwelling.
A 71-year-old man was woken by the noise and went to investigate. He was confronted by the two men and assaulted.
The men demanded the man's car keys and then stole his car, a silver Mazda Tribute SUV.
This car was later involved in a petrol drive-off at the BP Service Station in Kerikeri just after 9pm on February 13.
Attached is CCTV footage of one of the offenders involved in the drive-off. Police believe he may be one of the men that carried out the aggravated robbery at Parakao.
The stolen car was located in Whangärei on the morning of Friday February 14. Police are still looking for the men involved in the robbery and petrol drive-off.
Anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV footage or who has information regarding the robbery and petrol drive-off can contact Detective Evan Phillips at Whangärei Police on 09 430 4500.
