Road resurfacing work starting Wednesday on SH2 north of Katikati
The NZ Transport Agency says road resurfacing maintenance work will start next Wednesday (19 February) and continue for
about a week at seven separate sites on State Highway 2 north of Katikati.
There are minimal delays expected, but traffic will be managed through a manual stop/go operation during the day. Speed
restrictions will be in place both day and night says the Transport Agency.
Motorists are advised to keep to the posted temporary speed limits due to the presence of loose chipseal and lack of
road markings for a period of up to 3 days after resurfacing at each site.
The works will commence from 9.00am and go through to 4.00pm daily. Provided weather conditions are favourable the road
resurface work is expected to be completed by Wednesday 26 February.
The work, part of the Transport Agency annual maintenance activity is being done to ensure the road surface is safe for
driving on all year long.
The Transport Agency would like to apologise to motorists for any inconvenience and thanks them for their patience while
this important work is being undertaken.
