Police seek wintesses to serious crash
Police are seeking witnesses to a serious crash on Whangärei Heads Road last night.
About 9.25pm two cars were involved in a head-on collision near Taraunui Road.
The 27-year-old female driver of one car received minor injuries in the crash.
The 18-year-old male driver of the other car was transported to Whangärei Hospital with moderate injuries.
An 18-year-old pregnant woman, who was a passenger in this car, is in a critical condition in Whangärei Hospital. Her unborn child died following the crash.
A 14-year-old boy, also a passenger in this car, was flown to Starship Hospital with serious injuries.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and anyone who witnessed it can contact Constable John Pickering at Whangärei Police on 09 430 4500.
