Wentworth Bridge SH25 Whangamata closure for maintenance work
Maintenance work is due to commence on the Wentworth bridge located on SH25 which bypasses Whangamata advises the NZ Transport Agency.
The bridge will be closed to all traffic on Monday 17 February, Tuesday 18 February and Wednesday 19 February between the hours of 7.30am to 7.30pm each day.
An alternative route will be signposted using Mayfair Road, Martyn Road, Heatherington Road and Harry Watt Drive. Heavy vehicles will be able to access Heatherington Road bridge during these times.
The Transport Agency’s Regional Performance Manager, Karen Boyt says further maintenance work will be carried out at a later date to Wentworth bridge which includes installing additional piling.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience motorists may experience while this important work is being undertaken,” says Ms Boyt.
