Opportunities for Rotorua businesses from new contracts
Rotorua District Council is hoping local businesses will show interest in new contracts they plan to let for a range of services.
The council is inviting businesses to register their interest in becoming ‘preferred suppliers’ for a number of services across two broad areas of council operations.
One area is for contractors to provide regular maintenance and support services to the council’s Castlecorp operation. These include pipe supplies, cleaning and inspecting reticulation systems, water equipment and treatment services, ready-mix concrete, hot mix seal repairs, contaminated liquid removal, and vehicle tyres and valet services.
The other area is for specialist consultancy advice across a range of professions and disciplines. These include organisational change, marketing and communications, planning and consenting, procurement, project management, risk management, human resources, IT and financial services, audit, banking, taxation advice and asset valuation.
Rotorua District Council Procurement manager Kerry Starling said all registrations of interest received would be evaluated and assessed in terms of prices and rates, availability of equipment and resources, relevant experience, track record, management systems and potential value to the local economy.
“Suppliers deemed to have the best overall offering would be appointed as either sole preferred suppliers or to a small panel of multiple preferred suppliers.
“They will provide the council with a pool of specialist advice and service capability where there is need over and above the council’s existing in-house capability. The council would expect those services to be available quickly and efficiently, on an ‘as required’ basis, over the next 3 year period.
A full list of services being sought, along with Registration of Interest documents and information on how to register, are available from the Procurement section of the RDC website (under ‘Our Services’).
