Police charge driver over fatal Kumeu van crash

Police investigating a van crash that killed two young people in Kumeu last August have charged the driver of the vehicle.
Twenty-year old Ashley Walsh and 19 year-old Tye Gibbs died after the van they were travelling in with the driver crashed on Old North Road.
The Waitemata Serious Crash Unit has completed its investigation and a 22 year-old man has been charged with two counts of driving with excess blood alcohol causing death.
The accused will appear in the Waitakere District Court on Tuesday 25 February.
