The family of Lynn Howie have asked Police to pass on their request that media do not attend her funeral tomorrow and wish to stress that it is a private occasion for her family and friends. The family has also asked that Police pass on the following statement on their behalf:
Our family has been devastated by the loss of a loved mother, sister and friend. Her unexpected passing has been difficult for everyone who knew her.
We have been impressed and very happy with the outstanding support provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and NZ Police throughout this difficult time for us, and extended our thanks to them for their professionalism, compassion and very good communication. The assistance and advice has been much appreciated and we have felt very well supported.
The family continues their request for privacy. They have asked that are not approached and neither the family, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade or Police will making any further comment regarding funeral arrangements.
