Update on water fatality in Opua

Police have released the name of the 68-year-old man who died following a boating accident in the Bay of Islands yesterday.
The man was thrown from his dinghy following a collision with a 42' yacht, which occurred as the yacht was coming in to Opua at 8.30am.
The deceased man was Joseph Reti from Waikare, Russell.
A salvage operation was carried out today to try and recover the dinghy, but was unsuccessful.
Police are continuing with their investigation into the cause of the accident and a post mortem is being carried out to determine the cause of the man's death.
