Police concerned after man falls from rocks
Eastern Waikato Police are trying to locate a person who fell off the rocks at Whiritoa at approximately 5 pm on Sunday 12 January 2014. A witness observed a male fall off rocks at the south end of the beach. The informant did not observe the male resurface and left the beach to call for help.
Senior Sergeant Gael Mockford of the Hamilton Police said the male was on the rocks for an hour prior to entering the water and was described as wearing a white shirt.
“Due to the witness needing to leave the beach to call for assistance, Police are unsure if the male that entered the water is still missing.
“Police are appealing for members of the public with information about this incident to phone their local Police Station.
If anyone is aware of a male entering the water from the rocks at Whiritoa, who is now safely at home; or if anyone has information about a missing person in Whiritoa, please contact the Police.”
