Tourists, an influx of vineyard workers and locals alike have been credited with helping a Blenheim pizza store create a new national record.
Blenheim Domino’s has secured three consecutive weeks of record sales that saw 6,200 customers ordering more than 14,000 pizzas, setting a new national benchmark for Domino’s NZ.
The Domino’s Blenheim owner, Chris Donnelly says summer is turning out to be a bumper season thanks to a big jump in local and tourist visitor numbers on previous years.
“It’s quite phenomenal. On Saturday night we had the second highest sales in the whole of New Zealand. December sales figures are almost 21% up on last years and January figures are already tracking 30% up.
“We are seeing a lot more visitors, tourists and vineyard workers in the region and many people coming into the store are telling us they’ve come to celebrate the holidays at the local vineyards. The vineyards are doing well, and it’s exciting to see the high consumer confidence in them spilling over to benefit local businesses like ours.
