"Armed robbery at Queensgate mall"
Hutt Valley Police are searching for three males after two security guards were robbed, assaulted and threatened with weapons while returning to a money van at Queensgate Mall in Lower Hutt.
At around 4.15pm this afternoon the two security guards were exiting the mall on Bloomfield Terrace when three armed men in balaclavas attacked them and stole the money they were transporting to the van.
The three men then got into a stolen red Honda Odyssey, registration CAK757, and fled the scene. This vehicle was located around 15 minutes later at a near by address and had been abandoned.
Senior Sergeant Steve Braybook says "Police would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident or anyone acting suspiciously in the area".
"We would also like to hear from anyone who saw these men arrive at or flee the scene in the red Honda Odyssey".
