Search continues for security van robbers in Whangärei

Police are currently searching for two men following the armed robbery of a security van in Whangärei.
About 2.30pm today a man pointed a gun at one of the security van guards outside a building on Bank Street. The man managed to get a sum of money and then left the scene in a car driven by another man.
The vehicle was then located by Police at 3.30pm on Raumanga Heights Drive. The men were not in the vehicle and Police are now searching for them.
Police would like anyone who has had sightings of the vehicle around the Whangärei area between 7.45am and 3.30pm today to contact them at Whangärei Police on 09 430 4500.
The vehicle is described as a black 1999 Subaru Forrester and is believed to have been stolen.
