Join the movement and do your bit to Keep Waitakere Beautiful in the first ever Graffiti Free Week!
Keep Waitakere Beautiful, Rotary, Resene and Conservation Volunteers NZ are excited to be collaborating in the first
nation-wide Keep New Zealand Beautiful Graffiti Free Week. This year’s Graffiti Free Week runs from the 4th-11th
November 2013.
Many Kiwis will get involved with the inaugural Graffiti Free Week – a time when individuals, businesses, schools and
groups get out into their communities and help to remove graffiti from their patch. Waitakere locals are encouraged to
join forces for the 50/50 campaign to paint 50 lamp posts and 50 power poles on Friday 8th November and Saturday 9th
November from 10am to 3pm.
“Come along to Godley Road in Green Bay on one or both of the days and be part of the 50/50 campaign,” says Fiona
McCallum of Keep Waitakere Beautiful. “These 50 power poles and 50 lamp posts have been repeatedly targeted by taggers.
Painting them will make a real difference.”
Groups and individuals can join an organised event in their area, or they can set up their own event and publicise it on
the Keep New Zealand Beautiful website for others to get involved in. Resene give away free grey paint to cover
graffiti, so if you need paint, simply emailResene at update@resene.co.nz with your personal and project details.
