Flood readiness sessions planned for Wakatipu Basin and Wanaka
Public information sessions are being held in Queenstown Lakes District next week to raise awareness of the risk associated with high lake levels, and the need to be prepared.
The meetings are planned for Queenstown, Wanaka, Glenorchy, and Kingston.
In Queenstown and Wanaka, staff from ORC and QLDC will combine to do their annual walkaround of the flood-prone parts of the respective CBDs to provide businesses with information about flood risk and how best to prepare for flood events.
The meeting details are: Glenorchy, Monday 21 October, Community Hall, 5pm to 8pm; Queenstown, Tuesday 22 October, Steamer Wharf, 5pm to 8pm; Kingston, Wednesday 23 October, Community Hall, 7pm to 9pm; Wanaka, Thursday 24 October, Spencer Mall (22 Dunmore Street), 5pm to 7pm.
