Wellington Police investigating sexual assault after concert
15 October 2013 - Wellington Police are investigating an incident where a female was allegedly sexually violated outside a concert venue in Trentham, Upper Hutt, on Saturday night [12 October 2013]. After attending the concert the victim has been sexually violated outside the venue, between the race course and a nearby car parking area.
The person sought by Police is described as a male Maori, of medium build, approximately 6 feet tall and aged between 18 and 20 years old. He has a distinctive tribal tattoo on his left upper arm, down to just below his elbow and he was wearing a bright purple and white tie died t-shirt.
Both the victim and the male have been driven by taxi from Trentham to Khandallah where the victim has been dropped home. The taxi company is not known, but the driver is described as of Indian or Pakistani decent. Police would like to speak to the taxi driver and ask him to come forward.
Police are requesting that the male sought comes forward and initiates contact. If anyone saw this male at the venue or knows who he is, please contact Police.
Any witnesses, or anyone with information relating to this matter, is asked to contact the Wellington CIB on 04 381 2000 or come into the Wellington Central Police Station.
