Car and train collide at Rail Crossing in Taupaki Road, Taupaki.

At 10.03am this morning Police were called to a report of a car colliding with a freight train at a railway crossing on Taupaki Road, near Waitakere Village.
The crash happened on a rail crossing controlled by lights and bells.
The female driver of the car and two children who were passengers in the vehicle were all injured. The driver and one of the children were seriously injured , another child received moderate injuries. All three were taken to Auckland Hospital.
Kiwirail and a witness have confirmed that at the time of the crash, the lights and bells at the crossing were working.
The Waitemata Serious Crash Unit is investigating the crash, in conjunction with Kiwi Rail.
