Facebook social marketing guru coming to Upper Hutt
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 12 AUG 2013—The Activation team at Upper Hutt City Council are bringing Facebook marketing mentor Kathryn Overall to Upper Hutt as part of the free Activation Workshops series. The workshop will be held in the Rotary Lounge at Upper Hutt Library on Tuesday 20 August from 6.30 – 9.00 pm with supper included.
Tauranga-based Kathryn runs her own business, Engage Communications, which helps businesses and organisations to embrace the era of social marketing. She enables companies and groups to work strategically to create, engage and grow a Facebook community around their brand.
Activation staff attended a workshop Kathryn presented earlier this year in Wellington and thought it would be particularly beneficial for local clubs, active recreation and community groups. “Part of our role within the community is to assist clubs and groups to grow their membership. As an example of how this workshop could help, there has been a lot of recent research documenting the drop off rates of young people participating in sport when they leave school or transition into college. Embracing social media as a way to easily connect with young people, your members and the general community is a great way to promote and develop your club, group or business” says Ondine Brown, Activation’s KiwiSport Coordinator.
An easy way to decide if this workshop would be important for you to attend is to answer the following questions:
• Does your organisation have a Facebook page that sits largely unused with little or no real engagement?
• Would you like to discover clever tips and tricks that make your Facebook page more inviting, more engaging and more 'likeable'?
• Are you ready to gain insight into how Facebook, e-newsletters, blogs, website and You-Tube clips can all work together to create real impact with your stakeholders, members and potential members?
If you answered yes to any or all of the above, then this free workshop is for you!
