Otago Flood Update
The Clutha, Manuherikia, Taieri, and Pomahaka rivers are dropping from earlier flood levels.
However, Metservice are predicting heavy rainfall along the Main Divide today and tomorrow, with likely spillover for the headwaters of Lakes Wakatipu and Wanaka. This may cause river levels in these areas to rise.
ORC flood managers will continue to closely monitor the situation.
Up-to-date river level and rainfall information is available on the ORC Water Info site (www.water.otago.govt.nz) or by phoning 0800 426 463.
Further information on flood hazard can be found in the Otago Natural Hazards Database. Flood alerts can also be received via Twitter. See www.orc.govt.nz
