Fatal Industrial Accident
At approximately 9.40 am Ambulance and Police were notified of a serious industrial accident on the Leader West Rd, Waiau.
A hedge trimming machine was trimming hedge lines alongside the road when the driver has moved in front of the machines trimming blade. He suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. His work colleagues attempted to resuscitate him, but were unable to.
The male was aged 30 years and from the Canterbury area.
The police and OSH inspectors are investigating.
