Akaroa water restrictions lifted
Christchurch City Council is pleased announce that water restrictions in Akaroa have now been lifted.
Council City Water and Waste Manager Mark Christison says, “The recent change in weather conditions has meant the stream levels have eased enough to lift the water restrictions, and the water conservation efforts by businesses and residents in the region has also been outstanding.
“The dry conditions throughout the summer have been challenging, so the on-going awareness of water conservation is a good thing for the residents of Akaroa and the wider region”.
Tips on how to conserve water are available on the Council’s water conservation website: www.ccc.govt.nz/waterwise
