Sou'wester ushers in a few showers
The weather over New Zealand is expected to remain largely settled again this week. However it should feel perhaps slightly autumnal in eastern places, as a southwest flow brings in slightly cooler air.
MetService Media and Communications Meteorologist Daniel Corbett commented,"A few weak fronts brushing past the country over the next few days will bring a little, but not a lot, of rain."
"The long-wave ridge over the Tasman Sea is the driving force behind the continued settled weather," Corbett went on to say. "It has shifted a little westward over the last few days, which is one of the reasons why New Zealand is now in a southwesterly flow. However, we're expecting the anticyclone over the Tasman Sea to build back across the country later this week."
