Woman struck by train after wheelchair gets stuck on tracks
Train vs Pedestrian Morningside Drive Auckland
At about 9.05am this morning a female pedestrian in an electric wheel chair was struck by a freight train at the Morningside Rail Crossing.
Initial reports indicate that the Wheel Chair got stuck crossing the tracks. Several people came to the aid of the person in the Wheel Chair and tried to get her clear of the approaching train.
The Female has been taken to Auckland Hospital with Serious injuries. A person who was trying to help has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Auckland Police are investiagting and will provide more detail later in the day.
