One person is dead as a result of a crash between a car and a truck at Ormond in the Gisborne District early this
morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway 2 at 12.40 am but confirmed the sole female occupant of the
car was deceased on their arrival.
The collision caused the truck, which was carrying empty milk crates, to tip over. The driver however suffered no
injuries.
At this stage the cause of the crash is unknown. A Police Serious Crash Investigator is on scene and a full
investigation is under way.
Diversions have been put in place around the crash site however these will cause minimal disruption to normal traffic
flow.
