Following a car crash, SH1 is reduced to one lane approximately 2km south of Hatepe, Taupo.
Emergency services are at the scene and a Police investigation has commenced into the cause of the crash.
Only one vehicle was involved in the crash and the sole occupant died at the scene.
No further details of the deceased or the circumstances of the crash will be released until the next of kin have been
advised.
