Police confirm Christchurch train fatality not suspicious
Christchurch police investigating the death of a woman who was struck by a train early on Saturday morning have confirmed that the death is not considered suspicious.
Sheena Louise Wright, aged 41, of Christchurch, died after being struck by a train near the Hornby shopping complex at approximately 4.50am on Saturday [16 February].
Detective Senior Sergeant Darryl Sweeney says investigators are continuing enquiries into the fatality after speaking to associates of the deceased, and establishing the woman's movements prior to the incident.
He says the death will now be referred to the coroner.
