The two men who went missing off the Northland coast yesterday while fishing have been found.
About 1.30pm the Whangaroa Coastguard vessel located the two men in their boat drifting 1.6 nautical miles offshore, northeast of the Tekura Rocks.
It appeared that the boat's outboard motor had broken down.
The two men, aged 72 and 23 years, are safe and well.
Police launched a search for the men when they failed to return late last night after leaving about 2pm on a fishing trip from Mill Bay, Mangönui.
The search involved a fixed wing aircraft and two coastguard boats.
