Police are investigating a sexually motivated home invasion that occurred in suburban Kaikohe at midnight on Sunday (February 3).
The female occupant of the home woke up to find a male inside her house. This male has not been identified at this stage, however Police are following a number of avenues of inquiry.
The Kaikohe Police wish to speak to people who were in the area of the Kaikohe CBD and western residential area at around 12.00am that night and have witnessed anyone acting in a suspicious manner.
Police ask that the Kaikohe public remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately through 111.
