At about 10.15pm on Monday the 4th of February 2013 a 26 year old local man was struck and killed by a train while
attempting to cross Lincoln Road, Christchurch.
The controlled barrier arms were engaged at the time.
The scene was attended by emergency services.
Lincoln Road was closed for approximately three hours whilst a scene examination was conducted.
Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
