Toitū appoints Functions and Events Coordinator
Dunedin (Wednesday, 16 January) – Toitū Otago Settlers Museum has added a Functions and Events Coordinator to its team.
Director Linda Wigley says the appointment of Amelia Lindsay is a key step in its plans to promote the refurbished
museum as a venue.
“We now have a number of wonderful spaces that can be used for events and functions including our beautiful new
Josephine Foyer.
“Having someone with Amelia’s ability and enthusiasm will help drive this forward and help us, and the public, to make
the best use of our facilities.”
After obtaining an LLB (Hons) from the University of Canterbury in 2008, Miss Lindsay worked with the Ministry of
Justice as a Judges’ Research Counsel before heading overseas for a working OE in early 2011.
Realising her passion for running and organising events overshadowed her passion for law, after coming back to New
Zealand Amelia she returned to study, completing a Graduate Diploma in Event Management.
Miss Lindsay has ‘cut her teeth’ in both events and councils by working as an intern with the Christchurch City Council
Events Production Team.
Toitū Otago Settlers Museum offers a number of options for venue hire, with capacity ranging from a meeting room for up
to 15 people, to a combination of spaces able to take hundreds.
The new Josephine Foyer, has a capacity of 280, but can be combined with the Museum’s gallery space to take up to 670
people.
