Title: Pair Charged With Picton Murder
Two people are to appear in the Blenheim District Court this afternoon facing murder charges in relation to the death of a woman at a Picton address on Sunday 13 January.
Police were called to a disturbance at the address about 4.30 pm yesterday. The sole attending officer entered the house and found a woman deceased.
Detective Inspector Geoff Jago said two other people inside the house at the time were taken into custody and handcuffed by the officer without incident.
"The officer took the pair out of the house and sought the assistance of members of the public to supervise them until further Police Officers arrived. Police would like to thank those members of the public for their assistance," he said.
Detective Inspector Jago said Police were not seeking anyone else in connection with the death.
A scene examination has commenced and it is anticipated this will take two to three days to complete.
