Name release Hamilton Christmas Day fatality
The name of a woman killed in a two car collision at a busy Hamilton intersection on Christmas Day has been released.
She was 71-year-old Chinese national Rongmei WANG.
Ms WANG had been travelling as a rear seat passenger in a northbound Mitsubishi Colt car that collided with an eastbound Toyota Hi-lux utility at the intersection of SH1-Avalaon Dr and Te Rapa Rd about 12.35pm.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Waikato Serious Crash Unit and it will be some time before it is determined what, if any, charges will be laid.
Ms WANG'S death brings the Waikato Police District's road toll to 45 so far this year.
