Sexual Attack
Police are investigating what they believe to be a sexually motivated assault on a young women alone at that time in her
Wainuiomata home between 4.00 and 5.15am on Wednesday 26 December 2012.
An unknown male has entered the Wainuiomata Road home and has approached, woken and then sexually assaulted the women.
He has then left the address and is thought to have gone onto Wainuiomata Road.
A thorough forensic examination has occurred today of which police are hopeful will provide information that will assist
them in identifying the male responsible for this attack. Police are not ruling out the possibility that this man is
local and is somehow familiar with the area and the movements of the occupants of this address.
Police would like assistance from anyone with information on this matter or who may have observed any suspicious persons
or vehicles in or around the Wainuiomata Road, Reading Street area between the times provided.
