Cordon to be lifted in affected tornado-hit area
Auckland Council Civil Defence will be lifting the cordon in the affected area at 6:30pm. Until
then, people with emergency needs will be able to check on their properties under escort.
Residents are being warned to take extreme care when checking on their properties.
If you need any assistance call the Government Helpline on 0800 779 997.
The following is a message from Vector to those affected
Vector is working to repair the damage to our network as quickly and safely as possible.
However, once the network is repaired, any damage to your service line and/or point of entry
(POE) will prevent the restoration of power to your premises until this damage on your property is also repaired.
Vector would like to assist as best as we can, therefore we will ensure the service line is repaired
and reconnected to your Point of entry (POE). However, you must first arrange for an electrician to check and repair your POE if damaged. The POE is the point where the service line connects to your house.
Your insurance should cover this cost. When your electrician has completed the necessary checks and/or repairs to your POE, then please contact our service provider, Electrix on 021 2454122 so that we can schedule the relivening of your property once the network is restored.
