Highlanders Red Card Graffiti
On Tuesday 11 December (weather permitting), from 11.00am until 2.30pm, the Highlanders rugby team will provide some muscle to help Keep Dunedin Beautiful in the tussle against tagging.
With the guidance of experienced Task Force Green workers, the Highlanders will paint out graffiti on the rail corridor off Station Road in Caversham.
Keep Dunedin Beautiful Co-ordinator Darlene Thomson says, “As well as affecting the appearance of an area, graffiti contributes to a perception of an area being unsafe. It costs Dunedin home and business owners hundreds of thousands of dollars to repair each year and is a blight on the city.”
The Highlanders are enthusiastic about keeping the city that they represent beautiful and putting the boot into unwanted graffiti.
