Taranaki crash update
State Highway 3 has been reopened following the serious crash at Normanby in south Taranaki yesterday.
Two motorcyclists on a charity run died in the crash involving a van.
Investigations by the Serious Crash Unit are continuing and Police would like to hear from anyone who took part in the ride who was not spoken to at the scene.
Those who have not yet given their details are asked to contact Police in Hawera on 06 278 0260.
Names have been released of the two victims from yesterday’s fatal crash at Normanby, south Taranaki. They are:
•    Kelly Richard Reardon, 40, of Waitara.
•    Gordon Thomas McKay, 68, of Bell Block, New Plymouth.
Five people remain in hospital, with one of the injured flown to Waikato Hospital last night in a serious condition.
Four other people remain in Taranaki Base Hospital. One is in a serious but stable condition, two others are in a comfortable condition and a fourth is described as stable.
Police are continuing to appeal for anyone involved in the motorcycle charity run who did not give their details to Police at the scene to contact the investigation team at Hawera police station on 06 278 0260.
